Description
Extinction can happen both with a whimper and a bang. It's likely that many non-avian dinosaurs survived the end Cretaceous meteor impact but without enough genetic diversity they were doomed to a geologically swift extinction anyway.
Here is one such straggler stands and while life blooms again all around, it will never see another living member of it's own species again. The birds are the last of it's relations and they don't feel like sticking around.
I had fun researching some new plants to add to my environments. My old favorite the ginkgo G.digitata is joined by the magnolia Archaeanthus and a sassafras who's genus I wasn't able to find. (if you know, I'd be very grateful!)

So, I'm not sure if this is "finished" or not... I kind of feel that the empty spot could either work in the images favor or against it.
On the one hand it helps to highlight the loneliness around the skull and head of the living Triceratops.
But on the other hand it's also very blank space. I don't do backgrounds often, but when I do I have to be mindful of not "overworking" it and drowning out the main image.
What do you guys think?
