A quick sketch of a juvenile Sciurumimus scratching a hard to reach itch.
I was on an "itchy dinosaur" drawing kick a long time ago. It was a fun way to depict dinosaurs doing a mundane activity and not just stomping around attacking each other. Plus, it really pushed me to explore the anatomy.
Most of those drawings are now woefully out of date, now that we have actual feathered dinosaur fossils in abundance.
This guy gave me a perfect opportunity to revisit the "itchy" theme. Unfortunately, I don't think this will ever progress beyond this point ... my son got chocolate on the original.
Some days I really miss having access to studio space.
